What you need to get started

  • An ABN (Australian Business Number). If you don't have one, apply free with the ATO.
  • A valid driver's licence (or, for bike couriers, a current bike).
  • A registered, roadworthy vehicle in good condition.
  • Comprehensive vehicle insurance and goods-in-transit insurance (we'll guide you).
  • A smartphone (Android or iOS) for the Zoom2u driver app.
  • Right to work in Australia.
  • National police check (we help organise this during onboarding).

For specific vehicle types, pallet trucks, tail-lift trucks, heavy-vehicle work, additional licensing or compliance may apply. We'll walk you through it during onboarding.

Driver questions

How much can I earn?
It varies by city, vehicle type and how often you drive. The top full-time car couriers on Zoom2u in Sydney and Melbourne earn well above the equivalent salaried-job rate, but you carry the costs of running your vehicle. Talk to our driver team for indicative numbers in your city.
Am I an employee or contractor?
You're an independent contractor with your own ABN. You set your hours, accept jobs at your discretion, and run your own business. See our Courier Agreement and Carrier Terms for the contractual detail.
Do I need vehicle insurance?
Yes, comprehensive vehicle insurance plus goods-in-transit cover. We can recommend providers familiar with courier work during onboarding.
What if I want to drive part-time?
Most drivers on Zoom2u work part-time. Drive on weekends, evenings or whenever fits. No minimum hours and no penalty for going inactive.
When do I get paid?
Weekly direct deposit. Earnings dashboard in the driver app shows running totals and downloadable statements.
